McMillen Concert Bands
WIND ENSEMBLE
The Wind Ensemble is the top-performing ensemble at McMillen High School. Students have the opportunity to continue their ensemble, musical, and technical development at the most advanced levels. Throughout the course of the school year, the Wind Ensemble prepares several concerts, participates in the University Interscholastic League (UIL) Concert and Sight Reading Contest, and a concert festival in May. Members of the Wind Ensemble participate in the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) All-State audition process, and the UIL Solo and Ensemble Festival. Members are expected and required to meet all scheduled sectional, rehearsal, and performance obligations.
SYMPHONIC BAND
The Symphonic Band offers the opportunity for members to continue their ensemble, musical, and technical development at an advanced level. Throughout the course of the school year, the Symphonic Band prepares several concerts, participates in the UIL Concert and Sight Reading Contest, and a concert festival in May. Many members of the Symphonic Band participate in the TMEA All-State audition process, and the UIL Solo and Ensemble Festival. Members are expected and required to meet all scheduled sectional, rehearsal, and performance obligations.
CONCERT BAND
The Concert Band offers the opportunity for members to continue their ensemble, musical, and technical development. Throughout the school year, the Concert Band prepares several concerts, participates in the UIL Concert and Sight Reading Contest, and a festival in the Spring. Some members of the Concert Band participate in the TMEA All-State audition process and the UIL Solo and Ensemble Contest. Members are expected and required to meet all scheduled sectional, rehearsal, and performance obligations.
